Welcome
to Lower Clavelshay Farm
If you like the simple pleasures of life - long walks, log fires,
wildlife, wild flowers, starry nights, comfortable beds, peace
and tranquillity, a place to relax, good food, good company and
good humour - you will love staying at our bed and breakfast farmstay.
Badgers, buzzards and beautiful countryside surrounds the 17th
Century farmhouse hidden in its own private valley, on the edge
of the Quantock Hills. The farm of 260 acres, run by Bill and
Sue Milverton, is a real working farm, having 100 dairy cows,
50 young cows and calves, a few sheep, free range hens, and a
soppy spaniel. It is a wonderful place to live and Sue, Bill and
family are delighted to share their home with guests, in a relaxed
and informal atmosphere.
Although off the beaten track, the farm is within easy reach of
Taunton, Bridgwater, the beautiful Quantock Hills, Exmoor, Somerset
Levels and the coast. The house and farm are owned by the Crown
Estate and the house is thought to date from the 1600's. The house
has original beamed ceilings in some rooms and a real log fire
in the guest's lounge and dining room.
Why not try fossil hunting at Kilve or Charmouth, go people watching
at Minehead or Lyme Regis? Marvel at Dunster Castle, step back
in time on the West Somerset Steam Railways. Blow away the cobwebs
with a walk on the Quantock Hills, have a superb cream tea, then
a delicious evening meal. Watch the wildlife on Exmoor, stop and
listern to the silence. Visit the many craft shops and galleries,
talk to the makers - they love tp talk about their art. Discover
hidden valleys, quiet villages and beautiful country churches.
And finally.................................... please
come back again
